On behalf of the organizer, Wu Yihui extended a warm welcome to the Australian Chinese teenagers who came from afar, thanked all relevant units for actively organizing this event, and introduced the activities and enrichment carefully planned by the Taiwan Business District Overseas Chinese Federation and Quanzhou Huaguang Vocational College. According to the course arrangement, she hopes that the campers will actively participate in the activities of appreciating the beautiful natural scenery, feeling the traditional Chinese culture, experiencing the customs of southern Fujian and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, communicate more, and share the essence discovered in the process of finding their roots in China with their families and Share with friends and strive to be an ambassador of Chinese culture and a promoter of friendly exchanges and mutual learning between China and Australia.

Lu Hongjun expressed the hope that through the activities, teachers and students from both places can have more exchanges, enhance mutual affection, and promote common development. At the same time, winter camp students will have the opportunity to appreciate the magnificent mountains and rivers of their ancestral country during visits, inspections, and learning exchanges. , perceive the breadth and depth of Chinese culture, and experience the pulse of China’s development.

Wang Jian, secretary-general of the Hui’an Association of Australia, introduced the responsibilities and mission of the association, saying that it will work hard to build a platform to connect China and Australia and make more contributions to enhancing Chinese teenagers’ understanding of their hometown.

Camper representative Luo Silin said that he was very happy to travel from Australia to Quanzhou, China, to explore and learn. “Quanzhou is a very interesting place with many ancient buildings, ports and stories.” He hopes to meet more Chinese friends and learn more about Chinese culture during the winter camp activities, making this “root-seeking winter camp” an unforgettable experience.

The 2023 “China Root Journey” winter camp will be held in Quanzhou, a “treasure city” with a long history and a vibrant new city in the Taiwanese investment zone. Carefully prepared cultural courses will allow Australian Chinese teenagers to experience the world heritage culture , taste the customs of southern Fujian, feel the love of overseas Chinese, understand the long history of the Chinese nation while learning Chinese knowledge, and experience the charm of Taiwanese businessmen along the Maritime Silk Road with unique modern characteristics.
